EVERYTHING MUST CHANGE

Always
is
still always
until
it
just isn’t
anymore.

The past
not only
wilts
in the wind,
it floats
on nowhere air
and dulls
with distance.

The present,
though transitory,
is the treasure-trove
of yesterday's aspirations
and tomorrow's dreams.

It is home
to the circular center
that unfolds
between the young
and the old;
between myth
and the actuality
that everything
must change.

We are living
in the now,
like rivers
that flow between
transcending twilights.

To be all
or no one
happens here
in these
precious moments
where music is,
and nowhere else.
